Guam - While the Guam Police Department is on a hunt for a man involved in an attempted kidnapping case, residents at Perez Acres in Yigo says they're afraid. Annete Lizama says she's been living at the northern neighborhood for the past ten years, and to her knowledge nothing like this has ever happened before.

"I just wish somebody would find out who this person is so we can feel safe again," she told KUAM News. "None of my kids are even going outside just to be alone. We're all shook up. That's all I can say."

GPD received a call after a man tried to kidnap a 3-year-old girl at the playground inside the vicinity Friday night.  It was reported that the girl and her mother were at the playground not too far away from their unit. The mother had stepped away for a few minutes when a man attempted to take off with her child. The man fled once the child began to scream.

Lizama says the community remains afraid, saying, "I shouldn't feel like this. I shouldn't feel like this, but I do have eight kids that are with me and we are scared to even dump the trash honestly. I don't let anyone get out of my house without another child."

The suspect is described to have a dark complexion with facial hair and a slim build, standing around 5'7", was wearing a black shirt and gray shorts and was walking a small black dog. Anyone with information is asked to contact Guam Crimestoppers at 477-HELP (4357).
