Guam - The Department of Administration has put out announcements for a police commander and police major vacancies.  While Public Safety Committee chair Senator Adolpho Palacios had requested that the positions not be filled until the next gubernatorial administration comes in, DOA Human Resources Administrator Cecilia Martinez said, "There really not new positions they have been in existence since as far back as I can recall GPD in place. I don't know what his concerns are, but we have received the GG1, the recruitment action, and so we have announced the position."

GPD is looking to fill the highest-ranking police officer position, as well as another major slot in the coming months.  Selection committees are expected to be established soon.
