Adelup launches Guam Energy Task Force

Guam - The Governor's Office officially kicked-off the Guam Energy Task Force today. Here for the event is DOI Assistant Secretary for Insular Areas Tony Babauta along with members of the Task Force and the representatives from the National Renewal Energy Laboratory or NREL. This past May the Governor signed an executive order creating the energy task force responsible for creating a strategic energy plan for Guam.

NREL, a national leader in renewable energy and energy efficiency research, conducted a study on wind power on Guam.  It identified three locations best suited for wind energy development. They are Mt. Alifan in Agat, The glass breakwater area at Apra Harbor and northern Guam at Andersen Air Force Base.
