Sharks advance after controversial finish

by Dave Delgado

Guam - The Simon Sanchez Sharks move on in this year's IFL playoffs, advancing to the semifinals after being awarded the 14-0 win over the Southern High Dolphins at the Okkodo Field in Dededo. With little time left on the clock a dispute between both teams resulted in the referees calling the game with Sanchez up as the 4th quarter was coming to a close.

It was both teams defense that did most of the work through out the game forcing each offense to punt the ball and turnover possession. The game came down to which team kept the ball moving for first downs and that ended up being the Sharks and their wishbone offense that allowed them to move on.

The Sharks will now face the Father Duenas Friars next Saturday at 7pm at the GW Field.
