Guam - The Guam Police Department is conducting an investigation into a possible embezzlement case at the Guam Waterworks Authority. The investigation stems from several complaints made by customers who say they paid their water bills, and were still being given late notices.
GWA spokesperson Heidi Ballendorf confirms that the employee in question is a cashier who resigned today. She adds that the utility agency is also conducting its own investigation regarding an estimated of three thousand dollars in missing funds.
GPD Spokesperson Officer A.J. Balajadia says the report was made last Thursday and has since been forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Section. He adds that no arrests have been made as of yet.
