Guam - The merger between Continental and United Airlines is almost a done deal. Today Continental Airlines announced that more than 98% of its stockholders voted to approve the merger. United Airlines stockholders held a similar meeting where their stockholders voted in favor of the merger, as well.
The U.S. Department of Justice and the European Commission have already cleared the proposed merger. The airlines expect the official merger will close by October 1.
