Guam - A serviceman in the U.S. Navy is being held on $250,000 cash bail, accused of trying to kill a woman he knows.  Bernard Alan Jennings is accused of stabbing the woman in the neck and then fleeing the scene. On Wednesday night police responded to Ladera Towers in Mangilao where they found a woman at her neighbor's apartment bleeding profusely from her neck.

Jennings faces charges of attempted murder, possession and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, aggravated assault and family violence.

According to court documents, the victim's 9-year-old daughter had been locked in the apartment while Jennings fled.  He was located by the Guam Police's SWAT unit in his car with blood on his clothes and throughout his vehicle.  The woman was able to seek help from a neighbor, telling him "My boyfriend is trying to kill me.  He slit my throat."

Jennings remains behind bars awaiting a preliminary hearing.
