Guam - Motorists may soon have another option for avoiding the gridlock at the tri-intersection of routes 8, 10 & 16. Department of Public Works Director Andy Leon Guerrero says his agency is proposing using the adjacent road in Tiyan by creating an entrance by the Guam Main Facility U.S. Post Office with one-way traffic southbound, exiting near the Barrigada Fire Station.

"Right now we're hoping that administrator can together with whoever is in charge at Andersen and maybe get a blessing from them and once we get that we can go ahead with the project and start to alleviate the congestion that is at the tri-intersection right now," he told KUAM News.

As for the Route 8 project itself, Leon Guerrero says it looks like it'll finish on schedule - about 10 months from now.
