Guam - A U.S. Coast Guard investigation has been launched after a tour submarine had run aground in the western shoals of Apra Harbor on Monday. The Coast Guard reports that the Atlanta V submarine remained in the area throughout the day as an investigator and a marine inspector evaluated the structural integrity of the hull and damage to the reef.
No pollution or environmental damages were reported. Officials also state that no people were on board the submarine as the time and no injuries were reported. The submarine was freed from the reef at 4:37pm and will be evaluated for damages.
