EPA lists 17 beaches as polluted

Guam - If you plan to hit the beaches this weekend, keep in mind that the Guam Environmental Protection Agency has deemed several beaches as polluted. They are Ypao Beach, East Hagatna Bay, Alupang Towers Beach, East Hagatna Bay, Trincera Beach, Padre Palomo Park Beach, Santos Memorial Park, Togcha Beach, Bangi Beach, Nimitz Beach, Umatac Bay, Toguan Bay, Merizo Pier, Inarajan Pool, Inarajan Bay, Talofofo Bay and Togcha Bay.

Swimming and fishing in these waters could cause illnesses such as sore throat and diarrhea.
