Guam dominates Korean fighters in PXC 20

Guam - PXC 20 featured 11 huge fights, pumping the capacity crowd with four amateur bouts leading up to a massive card of mixed martial arts action featuring some of the island's top athletes with a variety of fighting styles.

Joey Lopez vs. Ryan Toves
A quick takedown by Lopez put Toves on his back. Joey worked to get control and got the mount. Joey would later attempt an arm bar and transition into a triangle. Lopez was the more superior ground fighter and would get the win in the first round win by submission.

Dylan Pablo vs. McKlaine Alfred
Both fighters came out looking to bang, after some action up top, with Pablo getting the takedown. With nothing going the fighters stood back up exchanging. Dylan Pablo landed a solid right. First round ended with Pablo stealing the round with a takedown. Both guys mixing it up to start the 2nd, takedown by the wrestler Pablo, both fighters working the ground. It was a tough round to score but Pablo gets it after securing a takedown late in the round. Last round, after both fighters landed some shots, Alfred lands in good position on the ground trying to get the mount but was unsuccessful: Pablo takes the fight by unanimous decision.

Trevor Cruz Vs. Derrick Hattori
Both fighters coming out letting their hands go landing leg kicks, pushing the pace early. Trevor Cruz got the late takedown as the first round came to an end doing just enough to take the round. They pick up where they left off but when the fight went to the ground Cruz was able to land on the back of Hattori and get the hooks in and secure the rear naked choke in the 2nd round.

Chad Sholing vs. Eric Santos
Santos takes it to schooling from the start of the bell and after Sholing was unable to get the takedown Santos gets good position and pounded on Sholing forcing a verbal submission in round 1.

After the amateurs finished, the pros took over control of the TerrorDome and thrilled the crowd.

J.J. Ambrose vs. Kyo Pyung Hwang
After some exchanges Ambrose takes the fight to the ground and works from side control. JJ dropping weight for this fight looked in great condition and the stronger of the two fighters. Ambrose sinks in his signature choke and takes the win in the first round by darce choke.

A.J. Aguon vs. Chris Lorenzo
Aguon with the crowd on his side throwing some punches to feel Lorenzo out. When the fight went to the ground, aj got in side control and started to land some staples. Aguon working the ground and pound. The fight went Back up, but a good sweep by AJ took the fight back down to the ground, Aguon works position and gets the back of Lorenzo and sinks in the choke and pulls off the win by rear naked choke in round 1.

Rafael Dias vs. Yun Jun Lee
Big takedown by Dias after a quick exchange. Rafael working the jiu-jitsu looking for a submission. Yun Jun Lee turned things around landing on top of Dias raining down with punches. Dias looked a little winded, the round ends the American Top Team fighter in side control working on Lee. The 2nd round started with striking, Dias takes the fight to the ground and uses his black belt experience to soften up lee and get the rear naked choke early in round 2.

Rob Washington vs. Ronny Borja
Washington stuns Borja in the exchange and takes the fight to the ground. Rob working the ground and pound, landing short shots, working him up against the cage landing staples. Borja would get cut over his eye and end the round on his back. With the cut jeopardizing another possible stoppage in the 2nd round, Borja comes out with the head kick and puts Washington out for the count ending the fight by knockout.

Kyle Aguon vs. Josh Alvarez
In the 135-pound lightweight tournament. Both fighters came out Feeling each other out, Kyle working his reach with the jab. Josh baiting Aguon in, taking the jabs and countering with some heavy shots. Aguon lands in josh's guard after Alvarez pulls him in. The fight goes back up, and ends up with another takedown by Aguon. First round goes to Aguon with the takedowns. 2nd round Kyle lands on top of Alvarez after a failed takedown attempt by Josh, but with no action Tony DeAngelo restarts the 2 up top. Alvarez reversed position late in the round, and josh almost gets caught in the triangle and armbar but managed to escape, the round ends with Josh in Aguon's guard. 3rd round starts off with striking and Josh looking for the takedown. Kyle working the ground and pound holds on for the win by unanimous decision.

Justin "The Shocker" Cruz vs. Robert Wusstig (rematch fight)
Justin working the leg kicks keeping his distance, and coming up with the big slam before the round ended after landing up top with a couple of punches. 2nd round, got exciting at the end but justin still able to take the round with a takedown when the bell rang. 3rd round, more leg kicks by the Shocker working his game plan with another takedown. Justin would get the win by decision.

"Baby Joe" Taimanglo vs. Young Nam Gu
Baby Joe going straight to work, with the takedown and ground and pound. Joe dominating on the ground using his strength to over power his Korean opponent. Joe works the ground and slides into side control and slips in the head and arm choke finishing off the Korean Top Team fighter with the same move he used to beat Young Nam Gu's training partner in PXC 19.
