Guam - An Airport Police Officer I is being investigated for allegedly mishandling property. Airport Police Chief Bob Camacho says the officer allegedly found an article of clothing in the airport area, and apparently mishandled the item before turning it in to the property section.

Camacho says they take all violations of internal policies seriously, telling KUAM News, "If there was any kind of criminal act regarding the handling of the property, we'll proceed with that.  The investigation should be completed by this week and we're going to meet with the AG's Office if this is something that should be pursued criminally or not."

While he wouldn't release too many details, Camacho says the investigation will determine whether the officer will receive a letter of reprimand or suspension.
