Guam - Keeping track of the island's ambulance shortage, only three were on the road serving the entire island's population. Although public law was enacted to allow Guam fire to tap the FLAME Fund to pay for repairs to medics that have been sitting at local repair shops, Governor Felix Camacho today says he's looking at different options to remedy the situation.
"As you well know, the procurement system in GovGuam is extremely difficult and there's a real need for change. Certainly we're looking at all options on how to resolve this issue," the governor told KUAM News. The three medics running today are stationed at Umatac, Piti and Yigo.
Last week a Mongmong family waited almost an hour before a medic showed up.
