Guam - A Superior Court grand jury handed down an indictment today against four people in connection with the tragic death of 9-year-old Brandon Evangelista. The boy's mother, Rose Marie Evangelista, faces numerous charges to include vehicular homicide, possession and use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, family violence, making a false report, and reckless driving with injuries.
The boy's godmother, Theodora Hernandez, is charged with manslaughter, child abuse and making a false statement, among others. Roy Junior Cruz and Roy Cruz Senior were charged with hindering apprehension.
The four were implicated in the death of the young boy, who was riding on the trunk of Rose's (his mother) car when he fell off and was then ran over by his godmother, (Hernandez) who was following behind in another vehicle.
The defendants remain behind bars and are scheduled to answer to the charges next Wednesday before Judge Alberto Tolentino.
