Guam - The Affordable Housing Symposium got underway today. The conference brings together both local and federal agencies to discuss the issue of the need for more affordable homes on Guam.
Caesar Villanueva is a planner for the Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority and told KUAM News of the event's purpose, "We already have an issue with affordable housing, but it's going to be compounded by the military buildup. We brought together federal agencies as well as private businesses off-island to address some of these issues - not just affordability, but also sustainability."
The Symposium continues tomorrow at the Hyatt Regency.
