Guam - 24-year-old Brandon Norris, stationed on the U.S.S. Frank Cable was medically transported to Tripler Hospital in Hawaii after sustaining head trauma on Sunday when he was struck by a car.  The Guam Police Department's Highway Patrol Division was called to investigate the incident that occurred yesterday in Piti.

Highway Patrol Officer John Gamboa says Stephanie Kristin Herring, 19, was driving home from a friend's party, where she spent the night.  Herring changed lanes and rear-ended Norris, who was riding his bicycle on the side of the road.

"If you're going to drink and drive," said Gamboa, "we recommend that you get a designated driver, safety is always key not just for yourself but for the other motorists out there to include bicyclist."

Herring, who is from Malesso, was arrested on numerous charges to include driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving with injuries and DUI with .08 blood alcohol content.
