Guam - Speaker Judi Won Pat wants some answers from the Guam Board of Allied Health Examiners, specifically the membership's rationale behind denying videocameras and electronic recording devices into their board meetings. During their last meeting, a sign was posted on the door banning such equipment.
Won Pat says public law allows the media to record government meetings, except during executive session. "They can pass resolution expressing their desires for things to be done, but it's not law," she said. "So it carries no weight, it's the rules and regulations that do because they follow the AAA process because it's actually passed and mandated by law."
Won Pat adds she will have the board's oversight chair look into the matter.
