New license plate honors fallen soldiers

by Nick Delgado

Guam - A working group of veterans is moving forward with the final design of Guam's design of Guam's Gold Star License Plate. A measure was passed last November authorizing the creation of the plate honoring the memory of fallen soldiers. Legislative chair on Veterans Affairs Senator Tom Ada called together representatives of surviving spouses of fallen soldiers, veterans organizations, the Office of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Revenue & Taxation participated to move forward the initiative.

He states, "We cannot delay the honoring of our fallen soldiers. The working group strove to have the final design completed by Memorial Day, and I am requesting that the license plates be made available for issuance to eligible family members no later than November 11, 2010."
