Guam - The Guam Chamber of Commerce was among the presenters at the Hita I Marianas Conference in San Diego this week.  President David Leddy calls the conference a success, but says the Chamber will continue looking at ways to leverage the military buildup with economic development.

"After this I am going to be heading over to DC to meet with several of the committee member from the Armed Forces Committee and we are going to sitting down with several congressional leaders to maybe leverage the buildup with was federal government can invest in community with some of the economic initiatives we have proposed," said Leddy.

Leddy say talks are under way about holding a similar conference in future, saying, "Obviously it is going to be a spring board to what happened in last two days but it seems like they got a lot of good responses from the attendees and exhibitors and participates."

Leddy says he does not yet know when the dates will be set for a similar conference.
