Southerners prep for annual Agat MangoFest

by Lannie Walker

Guam - The southern village of Agat is gearing up for its 4th Annual Mango Festival next month. According to Mayor Carol Tayama, the festival is scheduled for June 12-13 at the Sagan Bisita Pavillion near the Mayor's Office.

Tayama says it's their opportunity to showcase to the rest of the island what Agat is all about.  "I have the Marianas Chef Association helping me coordinate for the barbecue contest, and, of course, with the contest, you have the marination for chicken, pork and beef.  And we have the dessert contest - it's open to anybody who would like to participate."

If you're interested in signing-up, check out MangoFestivalGU.com or visit the Agat Mayor's Office.
