Guam - The Department of Corrections has released the name of the suspect in this morning's homicide at the Mangilao compound.  Convicted for murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, Steve Albertson was taken in for questioning after last night's homicide and admitted to authorities that he killed Arlen Feranco over a power struggle.

DepCor Director J.B. Palacios says Albertson has been incarcerated for more than two decades, while Feranco has been in prison for about ten years. Both were housed at Post 24, the facility's Minimum Security Unit.  Palacios says Faranco challenged the hierarchy as there was a power struggle over what the director called "the pecking order in the prison".

Officials are not releasing information about how Feranco was murdered and Palacios would not confirm that the inmate was stabbed to death, saying they will wait for the results of an autopsy.
