Guam - Port Authority of Guam board of directors chairperson Monte Mesa says he is looking forward to hearing the many updates at the agency during this week's meeting. While the agenda includes a discussion on the Port's performance management contract and several paygrade reassignments, Mesa says he is looking forward to hearing the Port's plan to apply for a second round TIGER grant.
"Also getting an additional funding source for the additional round of American Reinvestment and Recovery Act funding that the port is going to apply to, and hopefully we'll granted additional funding moving into 2013 implementation completion of our project," he noted.
The meeting is scheduled for Thursday at 5pm at the PAG's boardroom.
Guam High School and surrounding homes at Naval Hospital have been evacuated after a bomb threat is called in Thursday afternoon. The threat specifically targeted the school. GPD and Navy police are sweeping the area with K-9 units. The Naval Base Guam Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit is standing by in the event anything is found. Guam Homeland Security officials say all measures are being taken to ensure the safety of the public and first responders involved.More >>
