Guam - A woman remains in critical condition at the Guam Memorial Hospital's emergency room after she was struck by a car this morning while walking along San Antonio Street in Barrigada. It's a case that police say should serve as a warning to all drivers to always keep their eyes on the road.
The driver of the car that struck the woman told police that he noticed some school kids walking in his lane of traffic, so he got into another lane to give them space. The driver then reached down to grab his cigarettes, taking his eyes off the road and striking the pedestrian.
The woman sustained head trauma and the Guam Police Department's Highway Patrol Division is investigating the case.
