Earth Festival raises awareness of going green

by Michele Catahay

Guam - The Guam Energy Office hosted the Guahan Earth Festival at the Ypao Beach Park today. Special Projects Coordinator Ken Joe Ada says his office planned the event to raise awareness about going green.

Various organizations and energy conscious companies displayed ways residents can conserve energy at home. Ada says this year's theme is "I Am A Green Generation" and encourages others to protect the land and sea by thinking green.  "It's your island, too," said Ada, "and if you can join the force, and collectively work together I envision Guam being a greener place, a cleaner place and ensure that tomorrow will be a brighter day."

Several green events were planned throughout the week to celebrate Earth Week. The week kicked-off with a clean up in Tumon hosted by the KUAM CareForce and our Think Green initiative.
