SAIPAN - Former Guam Senator Dr. Carmen Fernandez was fired from the Northern Marianas College after the Board of Regents deliberated on Monday night.  Fernandez was under investigation by both the Attorney General's office and the NMC's internal legal counsel for allegations that the board confirmed against her that included the unauthorized changing of students' grades. According to the Saipan Tribune, Fernandez will officially be terminated 30 days after she receives the official walking papers and she will still be paid her salary as the college's president during that time.  The former Guam Senator has been suspended from her position since January.  Lorraine Cabrera is serving as the interim college president until the vacancy is filled.
