Census takers hitting the road Thursday

Guam - The census gets underway tomorrow.  If you received an Advanced Census Report containing 75 questions in the mail, make sure to fill that out and hand it to the enumerator when he visits your home. Guam Census Media Specialist Yoli Elliott says about 400 enumerators will be combing the island from 8 in the morning to 9 at night.

She said, "Be prepared that there will be a knock at their doors. They will be wearing their uniforms, which is the maroon uniform with the Census logo on it and maroon caps, they'll also be wearing their ID badges, they'll be carrying their red bags with a lot of the questionnaires if they don't have one with them."

The data gathered from the census provides up to date information that helps communities like Guam to gain federal money for improvements to our roads, hospital, and schools.
