Guam - After spending nine months in Afghanistan, members of the Halu'u Platoon are returning home tonight and tomorrow. Guam National Guard Spokesperson Captain Ken Ola says the platoon was mobilized and deployed almost a year ago in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
The 40 soldiers of the Halu'u Platoon are part of the Guam Army National Guard's 1st Batallion, 294th Infantry Regiment, helping to provide security for units operating in Afghanistan.
Welcome home ceremonies are planned at the Guam International Airport Authority.
