New Joint Region Marianas commander welcomed

Guam - A change of command ceremony was held on Saturday at the Guam High School Gymnasium in Agana Heights for Rear Admiral Paul J. Bushong, who will relieve Rear Admiral Douglass Biesel.  Bushong will serve as commander of the Joint Region Marianas; U.S. Defense Representative Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau and commander, U.S. Naval Forces Marianas, based in Guam.

He is reporting to Guam after serving as commander, Submarine Group 2 from Groton, Connecticut and has served as commanding officer of the USS Frank Cable homeported in Apra Harbor. Biesel will serve as commander, Navy Region Northwest in Silverdale, Washington.
