Guam - The island's chief executive and the Joint Region Marianas commander initiated a partnership between the Guam Police Department and U.S. Navy to enhance the safety of all residents. The combination of both local and military authorities will patrol and monitor the Tumon area by serving as additional eyes and ears for the police force.
Governor Felix Camacho states, "This cooperative effort promotes a safe and prosperous community," adding, "It shows a united front and sends a message that safety is a priority and anything less will not be tolerated."
The Navy began the joint patrol Friday evening in an effort to makeup for GPD's lack on manpower and resources.
