Guam - Island residents will have the opportunity to get H1N1 Virus vaccinations during an outreach event at the Micronesia Mall on Tuesday, March 30.  The Department of Public Health reminds parents that children under the age of 9 must get a second dose of the Swine Flu vaccine four weeks after they get the first dose.

The outreach clinic will be held from 3-8pm, but the last person will be processed at 7:30pm.  Residents are asked to bring a picture ID and children must be accompanied by a parent of legal guardian.

While vaccination remains the most effective tool to prevent flu infections, there are also simple, everyday steps that you can take to stop the spread of flu. These include:

  • Wash your hands often
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
  • Avoid close contact with sick individuals
  • If you are sick, stay home from work or school
