Two teens escape from youth correctional facility

Guam - A search is underway after two male minors that escaped from the Department of Youth Affairs in Mangilao on Friday night.   The minors were found missing from the Youth Correctional Facility around 8:20pm. Friday. According to DYA, the minors are both Chuukese, and ages 15 and 16. 

One teen, the 16-year-old, is described as standing 5'7", weighing 130 lbs., with a medium complexion, slim build, black short hair, having one brown eye and one blind eye with tribal tattoos on the left land right arms. The 15-year-old is described as standing 5'5", weighing 154 lbs., with a dark complexion, medium build, with short black hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo of "scama" on the left forearm, the letter "M" above the left thumb and vaccination scars on the left upper arm.

The two teens, both boys, were last seen wearing khaki government-issued DYA uniforms.  Officials haven't said how the two managed to escape as the search, with the assistance of the Guam Police Department, continues into the morning.  DYA is advising the public to be cautious if they are confronted by the escapees.   Anyone with any information as to their whereabouts, are asked to contact the Department of Youth Affairs at 735-5022/23, the Guam Police Department at 475-8615/16 or Guam CrimeStoppers at 477-HELP (4357).
