Underwood gets word from feds on RFP

Guam - Department of Education Superintendent Dr. Nerissa Bretania Underwood says she received correspondence from the U.S. Department of Education today.  She says she is working with the feds on putting the finishing touches on the request for proposal for a third party fiduciary agent.  USDOE has said the agent must be hired before more than $30 million in federal funding can be released.

She explained, "So there was just really one minor thing they want us to do and we're going to run it to the Attorney General's Office, and I believe we're going to start making preparations for the publication and the pre-RFP contract."

Underwood anticipates the final RFP to be completed in the next two weeks.
