Guam - The two officers involved in an auto-pedestrian fatality were cleared of any wrongdoing. According to the investigation findings, officers Donnie Pangelinan and Gerard Perez were responding at a reasonable speed of 39 miles per hour to a silent alarm at Nissan Motors when they struck Soon Ae Chai as she was crossing the street at the Kmart Intersection.
GPD Spokesperson John Edwards says Chai was walking outside of the crosswalk against a red light when she was hit. She later died at GMH.
GPD says the officers were not in violation in the accident.
