Guam - The Department of Labor continues efforts to raise awareness about employment training programs by offering free training clinics. DOL Program Coordinator Phyllis Topasna says the clinics are designed for private sector employees who want to learn more about labor programs and regulations including job placement, workers compensation and workplace safety.
"We are concentrating on occupational safety and health and because March has been designated as Women's History Month. We are also targeting women to come in and attend some sessions on how to prepare resumes, women navigating through the work force and how to start your own business. Of course, it's open to the public," she said.
Topasna says it's critical for the private sector to be kept abreast of changes and upcoming opportunities especially in light of the military buildup.
