Guam - An emergency shipment of dialysis solution arrived at the Guam Memorial Hospital on Monday, but it'll still be a few days before the outpatient hemodialysis unit is up and running. Spokesperson Connor Murphy said, "Right now, what we're doing is testing it testing to make sure, testing all the equipment, the water, to make sure that there's no bacteria present so we can reopen the unit so we can get the patients back here. We want to reopen the unit as soon as possible but we also have to make sure that it's safe for everyone."
The unit closed a week and a half ago because one of the hospital's vendors lost a shipment of solution when a Horizon Lines cargo ship lost several containers at sea.
