Guam - District Court Chief Judge Frances Tydingco-Gatewood has dismissed a civil case against the owners of Club 7 Deuce. A settlement was reached between Rodney and Josephine Sherry and Konan Santos and the feds. While the U.S. Attorney's Office believes money they intended to seize was direct proceeds of drug trafficking, they admitted in court today that they may not be able to prove that at trial.
The defendants contend the money came from legitimate sources including legal gambling, such as Texas Hold 'Em and cockfighting. While the settlement is sealed, the Sherrys and Santos will not get all of their money back, but they can now access the bank accounts that were once frozen.
