Guam - The Guam Election Commission Board of Directors passed a motion during their meeting this afternoon voting in favor of holding a special election to fill the vacancy left by former Senator Matt Rector. The special election will be held on Saturday, March 20. Interested candidates have until February 20th to file for candidacy.
Meanwhile the GEC Board will be sending a request to the legislature to provide funding to hold the special election. It's estimated that it will cost about $150,000.
