Nearly 40 teens busted in sting operation

Guam - Close to 40 minors were rounded up during a sting conducted by the Guam Police Department's Juvenile Investigation Section.  According to JIS Officer in Charge Sergeant Ron Taitano, Operation Street Sweeper targeted known hotspots for teens engaging in delinquent behavior.

He told KUAM News, "The areas that were identified were primarily the Dededo area. The Santa Barbara, Machanao, some of the other housing areas, the Liguan areas both east and west, Harmon- route 16 area, Taitano street, in Tamuning areas behind GPO and Cost-U-Less, along with Tumon and Mangilao."

No female minors were taken into custody. As for the teens that were picked up they were released to the custody of their parents with summons to appear in Family Court.
