Guam - The Guam Power Authority has now completed its underground line project that connects the Macheche Substation to the Guam International Airport. The project cost roughly $3.6 million and GPA says it was completed to provide continuous power during typhoons.

GPA Spokesperson Art Perez told KUAM News, "These line crews no longer have to work on a transmission line that runs from the Macheche Power Substation by KUAM's [Harmon] offices to the Airport - those crews can be better dispatched to other parts of the village."

This was the last project in a series of seven projects granted by FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant.
