Guam - Completing a four-month training course with the Guam Customs and Quarantine Canine Training Academy, canine handlers and their canines were honored with a graduation ceremony held at the agency's headquarters in Tiyan this morning. Handlers were given a green light to move ahead with plans to begin the Coconut Rhinoceros Beetle Eradication Project starting next week.

Acting Chief of Customs Vincent Perez said dogs and crews are prepared to test for the coconut rhino beetles and grubs.  "We have a greater challenge ahead to detect and deter the coconut rhinoceros beetle and its grubs from escalating any further," he explained.
