Guam - The 2010 election may be months away, but preparations have already begun at the Guam Election Commission.  The GEC has conducted several volunteer registrar seminars, and there are now 75 volunteers who are already registering eligible individuals throughout the community.

GEC Executive Director John Blas says a draft timeline for the election will be presented to the board during next week's meeting.  The GEC is also reviewing documents that include voting tips that will be placed on its web site along with absentee ballots.

"A lot of review is taking place right now so once we come in to the New Year, we'll have all our documents up to par. As well as we're hoping to have our candidate's packets available by January," he said.
