Guam - The 12th Micronesian Chief Executives' Summit concluded today with island leaders signing the Joint Communique, which details discussions of the conference as well as projects and plans that will be executed in the coming months.  Office of Economic Adjustment's Western Regional Director Gary Kuwubara touched on one of the many initiatives detailing the regional response to the military buildup and its impact to the community.

"There are challenges," he announced, "but again, the challenge would be turning this into a successful program that benefits not only the department of defense, the united states as a nation, but also all the citizens out here that serve as host to this military buildup program."

The next Chief Executives' Summit will be held either in Saipan or Tinian. CNMI Governor Benigno Fitial will announce the details at a later date.
