Guam EPA's hearing on Layon permit

Guam - The Guam Environmental Protection Agency will hold a public hearing tomorrow to hear comments and concerns on the Layon landfill permit that were raised by Guam Resource Recovery Partners.  GRRP believes there were irregularities that the Guam EPA must review even though a solid waste landfill permit was granted last week.

GRRP officials have expressed concerns about the water resources available at Layon that they say is necessary to assist with the increase in population on Guam.  The company, which is attempting to get a permit of their own to build a private landfill at Guatali, is also concerned about the proper rules and procedures being used, and questions if all of the environmental considerations were taken into account.

That public hearing will be held tomorrow at two o'clock in the afternoon.
