Senator Frank Blas, Jr. isn't giving up on his efforts to get the federal government to reimburse Guam some $400 million in Compact impact funding and provide the territory with a voice in Congress by granting voting rights on issues affecting the island.  Today Blas spoke before Rotary Club members in Tumon, detailing his efforts.

The Republican lawmakers says he received assurances on a recent trip to DC that the federal government acknowledges the money is owed to Guam.  "This money is needed so we can make improvements to our hospital and to our law enforcement and our educational services, those things that the people of Guam need," he explained.

"The federal government is asking us a monumental task in being the host of this build up and along those lines we need to make some improvement to our infrastructure just for our organic growth," Senator Blas added.
