Geckos hang 70 on Bulldogs

The George Washington Geckos continue their sweeping dominance in high school football after handing the Okkodo Bulldogs a 70-0 loss at their home field in Mangilao. Jesse Manglona's 40-yard rush in the 1st quarter ignited the fire for the purple squad on their first drive, as it help setup a 12-yard touchdown reception from Stephen Santos that gave them the 6-0 lead.

Manglona would end up converting the extra 2 points, extending the Geckos advantage to 8 points. Edwin Eclavea made his presence known on the special team as he blocked a punt return on the bulldog's 25, and returning it for a touchdown, giving his team a comfortable 13-0 lead.

Gecko quarterback Derek Santos used his throwing ability, as he connected with Stephen Santos for 35-yard reception that eventually led to a 1-yard touchdown by Manglona, giving the Geckos a 21-0 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.

The Bulldogs tried desperately to gain the yards in the 2nd quarter, but tough defense on the Geckos side proved to be too unstoppable, as they held the Bulldogs scoreless throughout the whole half. The Geckos would wind up scoring 3 more touchdowns before the end of the half, giving them the 42-0 lead.

In the 2nd half, the geckos managed to score 4 more touchdowns and eventually take the 70-0 win. Stephen Santos led the Geckos with 4 touchdowns while Manglona and Derek Santos contributed with 3 touchdowns apiece in their team's win.
