DOE'S Emergency Food Services Contract Expires Soon

Posted: Updated:

It looks like the Department of Education will be needing an extension on it's emergency procurement for food services contract with Kings restaurant. According to GSA chief procurment officer Claudia Acfalle there isn't enough time to submit an invitation to bid for food services, receive bids, review them and award one by october first. The current emergency procurement of food services will expire at the end of the month. Meanwhile Acfalle says she has been meeting with doe's legal counsel to determine how to resolve the matter and whether they can proceed with issuing an invitation to bid even though there is a pending lawsuit filed by Kings restaurant against the AG's office for the termination of their original contract.
