Appointee to GMTA board has confirmation hearing

Hoping to bring reliability and improve accessibility issues, Ginger Porter sat before lawmakers this morning for a confirmation hearing. Porter has been appointed by the governor to sit on the Guam Regional Transit Authority board. The appointee told lawmakers there are many challenges with the mass transit on the island, something she is optimistic can be fixed in the future.

"I do bring to the position knowledge about the transit system about funding, about accessibility, about many of the riders, about budgets, about personnel, and I have an extreme interest in seeing that this works," said Porter.
