The Republican duo of Kaleo Moylan and Francis Santos kicked-off their campaign Friday afternoon by officially registering their candidacy for the gubernatorial ticket at the guam election commission. Kuam asked a battery of questions on some of guam's most pressing issues.
Moylan characterized Guam's current education fiasco as a severe crisis in cash management, a problem he maintains he and his running mate have the experience to remedy. Moylan originally settled the Earned Income Tax Credit case in 2004 at a $30 million savings from Governor Felix Camacho's plan - yet still no one has been paid their EITC.
So what exactly distinguishes Moylan-Santos from other candidates? Admitting he's been prevented from doing his job as a lieutenant governor under Camacho's leadership, Moylan says he and Santos will work as a team because not one person can do the job. Their platform includes revamping education, taking advantage of the new airport runway to bring in new companies, like FedEx and Boeing and various call centers. Restructure the tax code to create better paying job opportunities for our people.
Santos closed the campaign kickoff by saying he looks forward to working hand-in-hand with Moylan because they offer Guam the most experienced leadership, based on their combined business experience.
