Education Policy Board Calls Emergency Meeting

Posted: Updated:

The Guam Education Policy Board is holding an emergency meeting on Monday night so they can get a clearer picture of doe's financial situation before making any decisions on how to handle the budget shortfall.

Board chairperson Joe San Agustin says that while they're taking every detail into consideration, there's one option the board is trying to avoid at all costs. "When we supported closing the school for two days That's not a practice we want to continue even though she had mentioned if we don't get 4.7 we could close the school well the board's not in favor of that but we want to make sure too that we're not keeping the school open and then we're running broke". Again, that meeting will take place at four o'clock on Monday afternoon at the DOE conference room in Hagatna.
