Saturday afternoon Attorney General Douglas Moylan called the investigation of alleged procurement violations in his office "politically motivated". Mr. Moylan, the island's first-ever elected attorney general, called out the Camacho Administration and certain members of the local Bar for having fired numerous political potshots at his office. In response, the AG dropped a bombshell of his own, announcing that his office is currently investigating Governor Felix Camacho and First Lady Joann Camacho, specifically citing an incident brought to his office's attention in which the First Lady allegedly "slugged the Governor's mistress". Moylan also asserts that the Administration took steps to cover up a subsequent lawsuit. In reaction, Governor's chief of staff Tony Sanchez released the following statement to KUAM News shortly after learning of the allegation. The Governor does not have a mistress. If the Attorney General feels the need to seek retribution against the Governor for the investigation into the AG's alleged violation of law...we simply ask that he keeps the Governor's family out of it. This accusation is meant to bring harm to the Governor and my family. This is a pattern with Doug Moylan that has got to stop. When his former wife filed against him...he went after her family. When he had issues with [Justice Frances Tydingco-Gatewood], he tried to go after her family. He has got to stop abusing his authority for his own political vendetta. The Governor pities Doug Moylan. He is so full of anger and bitterness that he will lash out at anyone or their family for revenge. As the Attorney General, he must be responsible and held accountable for how he executes the authority of his office.
